Denmark, one of the jewels of the Scandinavian crown, has produced a gem of its own – head Chef Henrik Hansen.
This Chef de Cuisine understands and embraces the great history of food and drink. Henrik had the privilege of working with 6 other Danish Head Chefs in reproducing the last 10 course menu from the Titanic.
Henrik is also known for his love of sabers, which he collects. He is a member of the Conferee du Saber d’Or Denmark. As an expert in champagne saber, he has ranked in the top 2 or 3 of Danish Mastership for the last 3 years. This interest in sabers has evolved into a study of Napoleon, who was the first Saber du Champagne in France.
His love of Napoleonic history has him currently in search of sample menus from that period of French history. Henrik would be delighted to work alongside other chefs in preparing a feast fit for an emperor.
Besides his love of history, Henrik loves fine Champagne, Chardonnay white wine and oysters. He also has a love of flying, and is currently working on receiving his private pilot’s license.
When he is in the kitchen creating, he loves to listen to music, especially Andrea Bocelli.
Henrik aspires to work one day as a Head Chef in France. He also dreams of working in New York City or Miami Beach, Florida. He is currently working on a cookbook and has graciously submitted pictures of several of his masterpieces.
