“Making a [Design] Difference: Creativity + Sustainability Matter” will feature internationally acclaimed Phoenix- based architect Will Bruder, AIA, President of Will Bruder + Partners and renowned designer, Fu-Tung Cheng, Principal of Cheng Design Inc of Berkeley, California. The program promises a lively debate about whether today’s criteria for sustainability are sustainable. The keynote breakfast at the Sheraton Phoenix Hotel on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 is part of a Pre-Conference Program offered by the Concrete Decor Show to provide the building industry an opportunity to learn more about creative uses for concrete as a green building material for new construction and renovation. Fort Myers, FL (January 13, 2010) – Southwest Florida College’s faculty, staff and students are helping the Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida make sure that children have access to high-quality books in their homes. The college participated in the Literacy Buddies campaign last year, but didn’t expect that they would exceed their goal this year.

Fort Myers, Fla. (January 19, 2010) – Southwest Florida College will be participating in a jointly sponsored effort to provide humanitarian relief to the people of Haiti.

“The devastation and human suffering on the island of Haiti is incomprehensible and the plea for help has been heard around the world,” said Dr. Stephen Calabro, Executive Vice President for Southwest Florida College.

Estero, Fla., (November 5, 2009) – Last year, it was the Caretaker’s Cottage, this year, the Ford House. A team of students from the Institute of Interior Design at Southwest Florida College are stepping up to decorate for the holiday season at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates.

Fort Myers, Fla. (November 5, 2009) – One new campus, five new programs, a Virtual school, and 2,300 students are swelling Southwest Florida College’s enrollment statistics.

“The school’s overall 28 percent increase compared to last year is spread across all of its divisions,” said Dr. Stephen Calabro, Executive Vice President for Southwest Florida College.
